 Mmmmm, Avocado :p

Was taking a symmetry shot for class and was going to use it as an entry for today but there was no way it would have worked for a square crop, so I rearranged this to fit within the annoying little square. In editing I desaturated all of the cutting board except for the middle. It had some lovely tones of brown in it, but it felt to busy and thick and I was going for a more simplified image, so that's my reason for it. I love the tones of reddish brown in the pit as well as the center strip of the cutting board, which wasn't a color present in the rest of the board.

This is very cool. I was already intrigued by the thumb, and especially by the full sized photo. Beautiful work! I hope that avocado had a worthy death on a yummy sandwich or as guacamole.

this is so excellent .. your desat works incredibly well .. in fact until i read your comment i didnt realise quite wot you'd done .. thats WOW ... i love the textures in the wood, the beautiful rich colours and your arty composition/image .. perfect .. this could'v made a great still life .. :) .. but for goodness sake dont do anything i suggest coz i'v got no idea when it comes to knowing wot those voters like .. !!:)
