Challenge: Road Signs Re-revisited (Basic Editing I)
Camera: Sony DSC-S75
Location: Detroit, MI
Date: Jan 20, 2004
Aperture: f/5.6
ISO: iso 100
Shutter: 1/200 sec
Galleries: Cityscape, Urban
Date Uploaded: Jan 20, 2004

This picture is from a area in Detroit where I use to work. The tracks are long gone as most of the shops and warehouses, to give way to the proposed Detroit casinos. I was in this area a couple of weeks ago and I remembered this crossing gate, I thought it would make for a good picture.

I gave this a five. Sorry, I didn't get the sign-but-no-track connection when voting. I remember thinking it was a nice photo of an old rr sign with good clarity and color but kind of boring (like my submission)and if you meant the emphasis to be on the No Parking sign it shouldn't have a shadow on it.
I can see where it would have been helpful if I could have read your comments while voting.

Would have made the two signs a close-up. The bottom adds nothing to the picture.

Like a face admonishing us to do so.

Rustic effect is good, subject is too central, fights for intersest with the roadway on the left

I really like the scene and the colors, but I'd be curious to see this in black and white. Great shot.

There isn't anything that special in this photo. Try to be more original. The sign has pottential to be the subject of a good picture.

Something about signs like this make me think nostalgia.... I would have like to see this in sepia of B&W. Great pic!
