 Got a new 70-300 ED lens that day, wondering around taking pictures with it. I found a blackberry vine on a chain link fence that was in full blume and covered in honey bees. Fortunatly I also just got a set of Hoya Diopters for the new lens, and decided to try them out for the first time.

Lighting was not the greatest, the sun had just gone behind the mountains. I got it all setup on my tri-pod figured out the focal distances...and started shooting. By that time most of the bees where scared away. Used 2s timer for shutter control due to low shutter speed, helped with getting sharper shots, was just luck if a bee was in the shot how I wanted when the shutter opened. I took about 50 shots...this is the only one I managed to get both in focus and have a whole bee in the shot. Prety good for a first insect macro shot though.

Focal length 300mm with 1+ Hoya Diopter.

I agree with the comments, the color and focus could have been better.

This submission was rushed, and the results show it. Hopefuly this is my lowest score ever. (not meaning I am happy with the low score, but that I aim to only submit photos of much higher quality than this in the future)

Was the overall greenish cast intentional? I think it detracts from the shot.

You need to WB this picture. It has a blue-magenta color cast.
