... And tonight, as all other nights up at the altitude that we were staying (3800m), it was cold. In addition, it was a perfectly starry night. I had always wanted to take pictures of stars - and no amount of fatigue or cold was going to stop me.. So I set out, armed with my sweet new hat and gloves that I had bought in town, all my warm clothes, and most importantly, my bottle of ¨aguardiente¨ which I had brought up to ¨keep me warm¨. And so one 30 minute exposure later, I was already a little drunk and ready for more camera action . And so I set the shutter off with my little home made shutter presser keeper fabricated from children´s hair elastics which had been bought in Guatemala to be used as poker chips... and ran around like an idiot in order to keep warm. And so above is the fruit of my labour.

Dude, I see you have some pink stuff in the top left corner! I have the same god damn problem with my D70 although my pink is worse! Do you any clue why our cameras do that? It drove me nuts when I was doing my long exposure shots in Kazakhstan!

I can't help but love this shot, the composition is amazing and the exposure is fantastic. Too bad about the noise, but I'll give it an 8.

Normally I'd hate the hemisphere of stars, but the accumulated light over the valley rescues the image. Well composed. Beautifully lit. Nicely post processed. Well done.

This picture is a strange one. It is like u are in a see-thru tunnel and the light is refelecting in. A very nice job of getting a picture.

Looks like a starbow instead of a rainbow. Very nice.

I like it, but is it natural, from a time lapse, or are the lights added from another shot? Still, 6.
