I personally find this shot to be kind of boring. The angle is really unimaginative. The facial expression is kinda so so... Did you have much of a repoir with her while you were shooting? She looks kinda bored or something...

It's already been said: Background
When you start doing studio shots, you really need a pretty good distance between your subject and your background. Either that, or you need to shoot very wide open apertures.
The trouble with distance is ... the further away the subject is from the background, the bigger the background you need (due to angle of coverage). So it's a bit of a balancing act. A fast lens will help.

This shot is also too close to the background. You want the background to be beyond your Depth of Field so that it is out of focus. |

I agree with Art the background is very distracting and I would also do away with the stool. The other thing is to make sure that her hands are either fully included in the shot or the crop is tight enough that her hand does not look cut off. |
