Canna Flower I dont know the varity but I picked it after a storm and placed it onto a black card and used a torch to light it The room was dark
I took a few shots and this was one of the better ones.I would like it to be sharper but maybe thats hoping for to much from my camera
It dosen't have a high clarity to it I love the colours though I cloned out a few bruises on the petals and added a border slighlty sharpened and downsized to upload
this is the first time I have attempted to highlight an image apart from my candlelit shot and I think it is quite good
I think it should do well but I Know there is tough competition and I am not sure if this is what was required. But I am pleased with this. I had another shot of a green fern that looked like gold under the torch but chose this hoping that the viewer will like the vibrant orange

I like colors very much as well as composition - the center of interest is perfectly positioned and highlited.

Desirable is more detail in the very middle of the flower - you could try framing it at the different zooms and see which would be more distinct. I realize that 2600Z is a very limited device especially hard to use at low light.

The background could be either totally black if it's meaningful(advanced editing?) or have more recognizable light circle cast from the flower which in turn would highlite the flower and make edges glow.

Nice work and a lot of effort is seen!

Oh, so now I know who made this beautiful glowing photo. This was one of my higher votes. You are really getting better Sally. I am surprised this didn't place higher.

The saturation of colour is beautiful. I would have suggested tighter crop for more dynamic composition. The flower kind of flows from the top left to the bottom right, which is very nice. So vertical format would have been probably better choice.

Still very beautiful photo. You must be very pleased. Way to go!
