San Jose Grand Prix

Through the fence, which is why it has some weird shapes in it. Its basic editing so I didn't try to dodge and burn them out, which is very hard and time consuming.

At a slower shutter speed, the car would have shown speed and action with the background standing still. This is a nice shot...coulda been a great shot!!

Looks like he's just sitting there. Did he just win?

Great composition. I like the diagonal lines in the foreground and the fence lines in the back. Nice colors.

Cool photo! It somehow does appear lopsided, though.

Composition: Subject Placement, Cropping, Background good
Technical: Focus, Exposure: a bit too bright
Appeal: would be more interesting with a bit of movement

Lines of mesh wire detract from the shot and draw attention away

The fence takes away from the rest of the photo. Other than that, great shot.

No emotion or movement here. Looks like a parked car.

Sure, sure. Where's the checkered flag?

This would be excellent if it wasn't for the netting in the foreground. One way to avoid this more is to use the longest lens you can find, widest aperture, and put it right up against the net. That should throw the net far enough out of focus to not even be visible.

I get the feeling the title is doing it's best to convince me that the car is the winner of the race. Unfortunately the photo's composition is not doing its part to help tell that story. Excellent focus and great colors.

Like the burst of red but the out of focus fence in the foreground is a little distracting and these type of images always look better with some movement and panning to them as they look a little static taken at high shutter speeds.

wish this had included a 'checkered flag' somewhere in frame...not sure how to convey "motion" here...gl 7
