Hi from the Critique Club,
First of all, congratulations on your top 20 finish. This image has excellent composition, although I agree with KarenNfld that a bit of the sky could have been cropped out (though not too much, since the negative space serves a useful purpose here). The clouds are beautiful and perfectly exposed, in my opinion; they flow nicely, and take on a great colour from the lights below.
As for the lights below, I'd agree with jaymody that they're a bit overexposed. Considering this challenge called for basic editing, however, I think you did a great job of balancing priorities.
Finally, I have to say that the water was captured perfectly. Great clarity, and beautiful reflections.
Certainly worthy of a top 20 finish. Great shot.

I alomst tried this, but my "city" isn't quite big enough, lol. Nice reflections in the water and the clouds. |

I guess a little overexposed, due to which the lights are a little bright... A little less shutter speed would have been nice... |

St. John's!!
A classic photo of the harbour. I might have cropped out some of the sky, there's nothing in it and it really doesn't add much to the photo. |
