His name is really William. He is a little screech owl, only about 10" tall. He had a broken wing and the kind lady at the High Desert Museum was holding him for our enjoyment. Did you know he can rotate his head 270 degrees? A hawk can rotate 180 degrees FWIW.

He just sat there and stared while I snapped some pictures and my 2 year old tried to touch him! Needless to say I was a little distracted so I didn't quite get the perfectly symetrical framing I was was hoping for. The OOF left eye also bothered me. Still, William was a great model!

This is one of the few square cropped photos that look great square cropped. and only because I am looking close can I see you reflected in one of the eyes. Im not sure if I would have tried spot editing it out and potentially loosing the nice glossy reflection that it makes.

Good one. I wish the eye on the right were just a tad sharper focus.
