This pair was an unexpected surprise while I was setting up for a sunset shot at this location - I had almost no time to frame the shot and was fortunate that I was already exposed correctly.

The grayscale conversion was tricky. The water and the sky are primarly based on the blue channel to reduce the impact of the sun and remove a lense flare. The rocks are mostly red channel to increase contrast from the reflections. I found setting up the layer masks to do this difficult and I'm not sure I achieved exactly what I had in mind.

I can't decide whether the rocky area to the left adds some interesting contrast or whether it serves as a distraction. There's still a fair amount of detail in the rock, but I'm guessing it will look overly black on some monitors.

not a big fan of B and W sunsets, this is nice, but could it have been better with colors?

I like the silhouettes here, usually not a fan of directly into the sun shots, but this ones nice, 8 from me

How beautiful Great duotone. Love the title too.

If the camera was sung about 25 degree to the right I would like this much more. I like the idea behind it, the color is nice, but the big shadow to the left just overpowers everything else.
