from blurgeois pedagogues:
Blur is a painter. He tries to make a cartoon of our world, an irreverent graffito. You want this guy in your corner when the world inside your little frame is getting dull. If you are lucky, he will, like a good cartoonist, make an instant emotional connection with us, a story instantly told or imagined, a compelling, almost anxious, sense that something is happening RIGHT NOW! |

Peaking through the curtain of clarity that we think we exist in to the real world, one hidden in shades and tones and haziness in which we impress on our visions our own preconceptions of what it means to perceive, of what it means to be real. |

How cool! This would have made a great shadow entry. The shapes, colors, texture. . . all of it make a most appealing image! |

Window Watcher :)
I like how you can't see the person on the left, but can just make out the wavy/curly hair. Almost as if we are watching the person covertly, as they watch out the window. Nice effect. :) |

the grainy textures & tones set this up, the silhouette carries it home..there is a lot happening here & yet it seems so effortless in the image...

I'm just mass commenting. opened a whole bunch of pictures and am going through one by one. but when I saw this I was like "Yess!! Now this I Looooove" and of friggen course it's yours. you can't seem to take a picture I don't like. It's getting spooky. If I faved everything of yours I wanted to I'd look like a crazy stalker or something. lol. Lovely again. |

Cool use of renegade sharpening to add more blurred complexity to the shot. Nice patterning of different shapes. |

Excellent, distant looking, the shapes and lines come together so well in this one. |

This one grabbed me from thumbnail and didnt dissapoint once opened up. Shapes and lines, colors and flow can all come out and stand strong when not having to focus on a specific point or primary subject matter. There is a line between just a blurry picture and a picture that is made because of the non focus. This is one of them. I am also drawn to the texture that can come with images like these. This has a great feel to it. |

Cripes. Nothing to say. :/ Striking and gorgeous.
Edit: I guess I could mention the perfectly framed angles and dissecting lines framing the indistinct human figure, because they're really making this for me.

hey nick !!! .. here's a challenge that you'll just shine in .. and wot a start .. this is just excellent ..
i found that CS3 has cross processing as a preset in curves .. how great is that !! ... you use that cross processing to perfection and your image is just wonderful .. reflections work so well with the imperfections on the reflective surface .. to me those imperfections really add another layer of excellence to this image .. :) |

Squigglies, shapes, lines, color - all there. As a thumb, the figure is apparent, but I like that when it's opened, the figure is more subtle, more blended into the scene. |

Fantastic - really. The colors, or color as it were, is fabulous, as well as the whole composition. Is that a hank of hair on the left? In any case, it adds some mystery. |
