Back in May, before we knew we'd be moving, we planted a garden. I planted vegetables, and my kids planned and planted a flowerbed. When we got home from vacation, the corn was fine, but the deer had eaten all the tomato plants -- aren't those poisonous? -- and all the charming little seedlings that had sprung up in the flowerbed before we left had turned out to be weeds. We didn't devote a lot of effort to cleaning up the mess because the "moving out" bomb had been dropped in our laps and we really didn't care much.

We kept watering the bed, though (soaker hose, why not?) A few of the plants the kids planted eventually did grow up in among the weeds. So, I present the first small, sad flower from Claire's neglected Nevermind Garden. It bloomed today. In honor of the occasion, I actually went out there and weeded, moving away or not.

Another lovely story that gives a taste of your life. Is there any chance that you could transplant the flower into a pot so it can travel with you to your next abode

Lovely composition and bokeh

Such a pretty flower, I'm sure the people who love there after you will love this flower garden! The DOF is great too!

Nice flower photo, I like the simplicity, and the softness somehow conveys the tinge of sadness in your story. I haven't been keeping up with people's stories as I should, so if you mentioned before that you are moving, I missed it. I hope the move isn't too rough on you. Weeding an ailing garden that you will soon be leaving seems like a lovely gesture to me!

Oh... I'm sorry to say that your little flower is as beautiful as your story is sad. I hope that's ok to say, as I feel for you having to move so unexpectedly.
