Monsoons have finally hit New Mexico! These are not great pictures but chronicle the event.

Sunday night around 10pm we had a big storm with torrential rain, hail, and lots of thunder and lightning. The rainfall was brief (say 30 minutes) but very strong, so the wash that borders the south side of our property ran for the third time in a couple of decades (the last two times were last year). While the water came close it didn't breach the banks, but it did cause flooding in the street where the wash opens into the street, which is right at the end of our driveway. We were lucky because our land is high enough that there was only some flooding along the bottom 20 feet or along the road, but folks on the other side of the road and a bit more east got some real flooding. Monday we were left with about 2 inches of mud in the driveway. They are predicting more rain today :-)

Good job on chronicling the event. I really like the colors in lower left, that picture says a lot on its own.

Great quality in all four photos. I like the diversity of this quadrotych. Our monsoon has been very active, too. Yay for rain!

Good quartet of photos. I love the glow of the lights in the lower left photo, and I can't believe you actually captured lightning. The other two photos are good documentary photos of the power of mother nature. Hope you stay high and dry!

Wow! Quite a great chronicling of the event, for sure. My fav. is the lower left image. I love the silky water and the blur of the machine. Hope you continue to stay free from flooding on your personal property.

We just over a sight a lot like this last week, we've had the rainiest summer ever! I'm so glad to see the sun out lately, hopefully you'll get some soon!

Cool progression, glad to hear you didn't get flooded. Hope you have 4-wheel drive for that mud!
