So, I thought of a place for a good rural landscape. Stretching cow pasture, red barn, white house, always a tractor or three. Plus, I had a good blue sky with fluffy white clouds.
So, I load up the kids in the JEEP (yesterdays picture -- sorry, it only has 225,000 miles, not 235K. I got it confused with our mini van that has 135,000) and drive to the community where it is, about a 30 minute drive.
However, it is no longer a cow pasture. this year they are raising corn. So much for a rural landscape.
So, here is your "Children of the Corn" shot. :) Now, if we just had a movie title challenge running, I'd be set. :) |

| HEY! You took that shot I wanted to turn around for but didn't! Nice contrasting colors with the nice blue sky, the shadows look neat on the stalks too. |

| Excellent perspective and colors. I like the sharp light/shadow contrast on the leaves. Were you able to snag a few ears for dinner, or isn't it that time yet? |

| you didnt get your rural landscape but you got an excellent photograph anyway ... & you've still got time for the challenge .. i considered entering but i cant complete with those amazing scenes in iceland and canada etc etc .. i live in a very rural setting but the grass is yellow and dry looking and the trees are mostly gums which dont translate into an attractive photograph most of the time IMO & i dont have time to go anywhere except close to home .. probably a good thing that i dont try coz my challenge entries are bombing out lately .. :) |

I worked in the corn fields one summer. It's hard work! I forget when it's harvested; I wonder if there will still be corn to photograph by late August. |
