Weird. I haven't had any inspiration for the blur challenge - don't want to post anything too contrived (like my day one shot) - anyway I posted some entries for the fork challenge and was asked what the object was in this image:

So I decided to take another shot to help explain and my composition was way off as was my focus. I can tell you that that wincing captured in those metal pins is the look of pain as those stupid things invaded my eyes, nose and mouth. The resulting picture seemed worthy of this topic. I did next to nothing to the image (surprising for me, but that's the beauty of this topic!). Here's the resized original from RAW...

Ouch! Choosing to include so much of your body in the shot makes this unusual and quirky - got a home movie feel to it. Almost as if the inclusion of the pins knickknack was an afterthought.

Ooooouch!!! I love playing with those things. I think Jutilda needs to give us lessons tho on how to do it right.

You need to press a little harder on your right side, the eye lines aren't there :P

i think you lost a great opportunity of keeping this idea waiting for a challenge. Just delete it. It's still time for you to save it.

Interesting image, but I am not sure the softness is working for you here...

Bob nailed the critique. Ooooooh that was bad!! I really really like the ideas that come from that oh so sick mind. Again, nicely done for non-sharp (yeah right, tell your face that) side challenge.

Wow. Almost half way through the month and here is yet another in-camera technique to get an interesting blur (even if the pointy ends were the opposite of unsharp). The result is fascinating. Ah, the things we do for art.

8/11/07 edited for spelling - caught it in reading Genie's quote.

Don't feel alone. We've all done it.

Great idea. Reminds me of the old 50's Sci-Fi movies where the experiment goes horribly wrong. Funny to!
