 Not so much blur as narrow DOF, but still, I like it. I was walking around the State Capitol yesterday and ventured down Congress Avenue (the main street downtown) looking for something to shoot and these flowers were spilling over a raised flower bed on a corner, so as I started shooting, I realized there was a fly, or bee or something, so I followed him from flower to flower. His wings really did glisten. I had to tone it down a smidge, as it made them too blown out. ENJOY

I thought of putting it in the Speed Free Study, but knew DPCers were sick of flowers and bugs. ;~>

Great color. Maybe a tad oversharp on the focused areas, but the background bokeh is wonderful. Love the tones and composition.

And this one too -- it looks like such a great free study contender. Wow! Those brilliant colors and the razor sharp bee. This couldn't beee any better :)

The orange flower really takes over the shot and the bee almost seems secondary to me. Nice work!

this is beautiful, Judy, I think on of the best of yours' I've seen, and you know I love your flower images!! I sweet DOF & the boke that is the blur! That makes the image! very bright colors & a little buzzbuzz as a nice finish!

Fitting tribute to this hard working little critter. The glittery wings and wing/petal lines, bokeh and complementary colors all come together nicely.

Love the color and blur of the flower pedals. The BG bokeh sets off the in focus bee perfectly.

IMNSHO, this is what bokeh is all about. The blur accentuates the detail in the insect and the part of the flower he's sitting on. Neat shot.
