Yes, another hummingbird shot. They've really started "swarming" around Grandma's for the summer. We have 18 that I've counted, so probably at least 2 dozen.
This shot I liked for the unusual POV and the almost "peace dove" appearance.
PP included crop, clone brush to remove a couple of distractions on the background edges, levels/curves, desaturate, selective color, replace color, channel mixer, dodge/burn, add border, NI, resize, sharpen, save for Web.
Post-Challenge:
WOW! I'm very pleased with this finish. And I can't believe I actually beat Larus in a Free Study! ROFLMAO... Sorry, I know it may seem petty and I really wanted to finish in the top 10, but I'll take this and grin for a week. =-) |

beautiful .. its the other side of the coin to the pelican in my mind .. one chained to the earth in pain .. and this ... uplifting .. i've often wished i was a bird .. free from gravity .. free from thought .. to feel weightless in both mind and body .. love your excellent photograph and your process is perfect .. LOVE IT .. !! ..:) |

Oh Jimmy!!! I'm so jealous of your hummingbird photos! This is just stunning. Looks like the dpc crowd is catching on to our love of photos enhanced with just the right amount of blur in all the right places!
Congratulations on 16th place with this amazing photo.

What a charmer amidst so much mediocrity. Hope this does well for you. It would get an 8 from me if I were voting. ;~D |
