I had a great time when I visited the Noria in Hama - the creaking sounds were most memorable!
As I recall, there are a number of them - this looks like one of the bigger ones, but unfortunately the light is not great. The best time (though inconvenient for a day trip) would be at dawn or dusk, with the Noria in the light and out of the deep shadow. It might also be interesting at night - a long exposure of a moving wheel would be interesting. |

At the time of day you too this the contrast between the sky and dark shadow is just too great.. Possibly when the sun was further around? or at the other end of the day? |

It's very dark -- I can barely make out the wheel and this monitor is calibrated... |

I have no idea what this photograph is about? |

A wise photog once said that his best piece of camera equipment was his alarm clock. If the sun had been shining directly on the wheels (12 hours earlier/later), this would've been a great shot. |

Looks an excellent photographic subject. Unfortunately there's too much contrast with blown highlights and detail lost in shadow. It would be worth revisiting on maybe an overcast day or at a time when the sun is coming at it from the other side :) |

A bit dark on the water wheel, can't see much detail. |

Ummm.... I hate to hurt your feelings, but this is lousy. You can't even see the water wheel. There is no sky either. You need to look around and see what other people are submitting here at DPC. you might then realize that this is not acceptable for a challenge. |

Too much dark area lacking detail. |

There is very little detail in the shadows. The brightness of the tree tops and sky make it impossible to get a good picture without post processing. |

it's a very nice scenery, but it's too dark over all (big dark shadows on the right); whish to see the interesting details |
