This is Kalyn, a friend of mine who is working in nyc as a model/actress. She is absolutely fabulous to work with and I am going to be posting a lot of the work I am doing with her soon. I thought this was a nice start because it is a fun candid. She has a great smile. The original shot was a little blurry which kind of worked to her advantage because it automatically smoothed out her skin a bit. I sharpened the whole picture with usm and that is how the smooth but sharp look was gotten. I did lighting with a combination of the levels tool and dodging, but then i made a layer and applied the diffuse glow very heavily to it and then lowered the opacity of the layer to about 10-20% which really helped bring a shine to the photo since it was backlit and the light was a little dull.

fantastic image. Love the soft focus look. I would love to know more about this 'diffuse glow' filter.

Definitely a memorable pic for anyone involved.
