A different take on the challenge, I like the idea, the cars in the background are a little distracting (I'm guessing she was in a parade or something so you couldn't exactly choose your background....). I'm interested to read the comments for this after the challenge to see what she was dressed up for. |

What advanced editing did you do? Come on, I would have, even for my travel photos removed the striped street sign, the spots on the pavement, the tree growing from her head and the guys in jeans sitting on the curb. Not to mention the stuff on the grass and a few other things I just went back to see. Get serious please. |

I'd have liked this better in black and white :) |

A good idea for the challenge, but I feel there is more you could have done to enhanced the photo. The background is unappealing, and provides a strange context for the belly-dancer - if this was part of a display and you had no opportunity to move your model, opting for a very shallow depth of field may have helped to blur and disguise the background. |

Interesting street shot. Doesn't really meet the challenge. |

Depth of field would have been useful here to take out the background clutter. |

Good idea, but the shot could have been done differently. The background is very distracting. Use a different DOF or take the shot from a different perspective to take a distracting background out of the picture.

i think u have the right idea. and im glad to see you thinking outside the box. however, the background of this picture is very distracting and takes away from the main subject. i think i would've tried a couple of different angles and perspectives in order to get more of the focus on her. either that or shot with a very low aperature to get a more shallow depth of field... making her stand out from her surroundings. 5 |

more of a snapshot than a carefully thought out image...the bg is very distracting |
