This was part of a student talent/fashion show put on by a local radio station and West Edmonton Mall. Most of the kids in this had never performed or modelled on stage before, it was an impressive little show considering that.
I know to some people this will look like it was shoehorned in, but I really did intend it for this challenge in the way the title depicts. I hope I don't get voted down too bad.
Post Processing:
Raw: Exposure Compensation
PS:
Levels.
Curves.
Duplicate Layer, apply USM at 28 pixels, 80%, and a threshhold of 12.
Convert new layer to B&W using Channel Mixer.
Blending Mode changed to Soft Light for new Layer and opacity lowered.
USM on new layer.
Reduce Noise on bottom layer.
Dodge/Burn on bottom layer.
USM 1.1 pixels, 75%, and threshhold of 1.
Flatten image.
Selective Color.
Resize.
Color Balance.
Save for Web.
I'm still trying to learn to take great pictures that don't requite alot of editing. For now, this was all necessary to get the look I was going for when I took the shot. Unfortunately I didn't have much time to play with the camera settings on this occassion so it needed all that editing. =\ |

| This is a great shot - I am not sure about its relation to the theme wings really, other than the title, but I love it anyway. |
