I paid dearly for this shot. I ran at lunchtime and then decided to get a few quick shots for the side challenge. Perfect equation for mosquito-fest: a ton of recent rain and hot weather; sweaty guy in shorts and t-shirt standing in damp woods...

Yet another Photoshop experiment. I rotated, cropped, etc. I did my usual trick of creating another layer, blurring, blending in multiply mode, and sharpening background. Then adjusted levels and hue/sat. Lots of NI on background. Pink/purple tones were lost in flowers so I colored them a bit more (this only took a couple minutes). I then applied Nik Efex Monday Morning filter. A bit of dodging and burning on plant and then Flaming Pear Flood filter.

AWESOME shot & edit! I bet it would've done well in the free study (expert editing!). Adding as a fav as I type!

What a dramatic rendering. Very other-worldly, like some night-illuminating flower. I hadn't guessed the water wasn't real (though the size of the ripples should have tipped me off). Good experiment! Sorry to hear about the mosquitoes. :-/

Holy cow, this is fabulous! I love the violet flowers against the black, and the way your flowers absolutely glow! This has got to be one of the most effective and realistic uses of the Flaming Pear Flood filter I've ever seen, I thought it was a real reflection in water!
