 I can't believe it's been 50 days...

I see this scene way too much. Every other weekend we have to take Taylor up to Michigan so she can spend the weekend with her dad. We normally leave around 5PM and get back around 845, but that means stopping at mile 20 on I196 for Taco Bell that we eat on the way.

Today we had to drive all the way to just North of Grand Rapids and then I was tired of fast food so we we stopped at a restaurant where they actually bring the food to your table. Imagine that!! We left at 3PM and got home at this time. This explains why it's 1:30AM and I have to get up at 6AM - I need time for myself also.

These days I look forward to weekends where I don't have to drive anywhere except local. Note: I drive 35 miles each way to work during the week.

Evokes those long, late night drives. When I was a teenager my dad had to drive 35 miles each way to work and back. I thought it was crazy. Now I know people who have 90-120 minute daily commutes EACH WAY.

Luckily, I can walk to work these days. It's a definite luxury!

Though I don't do much driving right now (taking a break from the classroom and just teaching over the internet), I used to so I can relate! Up until January of this year I taught at a college that was 200 miles from home. I lived in campus housing during the week, then drove home for the weekends. I did this for 2 1/2 years, driving 400 miles each weekend. Thank goodness for books on CD!!

I have really enjoyed your photographs over these 50 days! I've seen that not only do you create amazing seascapes, but amazing landscapes and floral shots as well! I will look forward to seeing more of your images in October!!

Wow - that's a lot of driving. And a place where they bring food to the table?? :op
