 I always make my own herbal oils for cooking. I have three of these nice red bottles, and when the light shines through them it looks really nice. I could only use one bottle çause the other two were almost empty and all greasy inside from the oil. That didn't look too pretty ;-)

lighting is quite simple.
cardboardbox and then drop the background over it but leaving enough space behind it to set up a light.

place a light behind the bottle at just the right height. I placed it pointing upwards on a couple of cookingbooks (how appropriate)
for the garnish to be highlighted another light in front, but pointing way down to the floor so it will only light the garlic and herbs.

I like the coloring against the black background. Good lighting. Well done meeting the criteria of the challenge.

the bottle does not appear straight up and down .. I think this may be that the objects in it aren't and make it appear on a lean. Nice work but a fair amount of front light as well on the other front objects.

absolutely beautiful. i must admit thumbnail does not do justice to the quality of this photograph. nice choice for the border too. the only change i would suggest is the use of a bit warmer light for the foreground. bright whiteness of foreground competes with beautiful reds in the bottle. overall an excellent image. good luck.
