Photograph taken inside St. Peter's Church, in Rome. The statue is protected by a thick glass. I have photographed in available light, no flash light. Freehand: no tripod allowed. The available light is artificial; no daylight, therefore the original image looks quite reddish.
Editing has been done with Paint Shop Pro:
- resize;
- automatic correction in 1 step;
- sharpness: + 3;
- border: black, 5 pixels;
- "accentuated focus".

If this seems boring and poorly composed to you, I would assume that you have not been there to see the real thing. True, it would be great to see the whole thing, however...It's behind glass, the glass is in sections (so if you move the wrong direction you will have a window joint through your picture), there are a million people packed in there like sardines trying to get a look at it simultaneously, no flash, no tripod, no monopod. I'm amazed it's not a giant blur with someone's head in the frame.

Very very nicely done. I'm used to a different angle of view from other photos of the Pieta, but your composition and the lighting and tones work very well together. (Also impressed by what you managed under the lighting conditions and the glass barrier as well as the Panny ISO 800).
