 Visiting Grandma usually brings about visits to parks. Grandma can sit and watch and the kids can run around. With each passing year, the kids get a little bigger and the playgrounds seem a little smaller. My oldest is 'done' with playgrounds, but James still has the glint in his eye and enjoys the visits to the neighborhood playscape.

I took these photos while watching the kids play on the playground. The light was really pretty good and my son seemed to be having a great time. I didn't think I had anything to enter the Free Study this month, but I wanted to put together a tribute to the fast fleeting moments of my kid's youth.

Here is my best effort. I hope it is liked by DPC half as much as I do, but I gather these are not super DPC friendly...

Pretty standard processing on each individual image - curves, exposure, and hue/saturation adjustment. Noise Ninja to smooth out a little and add some local contrast. Saved each individually and built collage in successive layers.

Score prediction: 5.8

Post Challenge: It finished about where I expected...Thanks for the two comments during voting. I really appreciate - the one from luv2photo - very informative about choice of eye contact etc.

Originally had planned to enter the bottom right image alone, but the Expert editing got me to thinking that a collage would work better - but it probably didn't...

Peter - this is a great triptych. It is something your family will cherish forever, which is worth a lot more than a high score in a virtual photography challenge! I especially like the bottom right photo. It's eye-catching.

I thing I would like this better if he were not looking at the camera for all three shots. I would have liked to see him more at play, more natural.
