I used an extension tube for this and focused on his nose. I also adjusted levels, sharpness, and noise in Photoshop. I applied gaussian blur to the eyes and the area below his nose.

Not sure about the crop on this one. The eye at the left of frame works but the eye at the right of the frame 'feels' awkward.

I think you've hit the law of diminishing returns on closeups. I would have liked to have seen both eyes clearly for a tight portrait.

too much nose for my taste (is that her best feature), but you did fill the frame

good detail on the nose but the image really doesnt hold much appeal for me - including more of those sleepy eyes would likely have helped

Well, it meets the challenge. I just don't know how often I would like to look at a cat's nose.
