From pre-historic times to today, there has been (and is) an incessant need for man and woman to leave their mark, to draw an image of an elk or a tiger, and then later, to leave a part of themselves through a name, something that cries out, "I was here, I existed, see me," an almost desperate plea for the future to remember us, without which maybe we never existed at all. So much of our lives is held in word and drawing, like what you have captured here, swirls of light and darkness, words differentiated from symbols only by context, by our understanding. I love that you saw this; I love that you captured it. I love anything that can make me think this much. Thank you. |
