This is a bit of an experimental one for me. I'm not too fussed about the score I get (unless I get less than, say, 4.5) but we'll see. The basic sense I wanted to capture is of one face, picked out of a large blurry crowd
I basically shot lots of the same spot (camera on a tripod), and overlaid them on to each other, masking out the bits I didn't want. The main subject was shot at 1/200 secs, the others at 1/5 sec (the slowest I could do under the conditions without the highlights starting to blow) I added some motion blur to some of these subjects to make them more blurry.

I shot about 30 "blurry" shots of other members of the crowd. and used about 5 or 6 in the shot. I could have theoretically used more, creating a scene of more people, but I was running out of editing time.

Once I'd finished layering and masking, I USM'ed the main subject, whilst slightly desaturating and softening the background.

In hindsight, I do wish I'd got more people in my scene, plus the main subject is not as strong as I'd like. I had planned to use myself as the main subject, but I was too far away to get in shot. Plus this was my second choice of location, I had planned to shoot at an indoor shopping centre, but the security guards stopped me before I'd even got my tripod out ;-) I will try and go back at some point but ask for permission first.

It didn't work out how I'd expected but I enjoyed doing it and will definitely have another go at some point.

I hope this came from 2 pictures.

I think it would work better with a tighter crop, with nothing sharp in the foreground other than the woman and the black pollard.

Good candid shot. I Love how the subject is in focus, but everyone else is blurred.

Nice selective blur, the composition looks a bit haphazard to me thou, Good luck

Love the blur!! I might crop out the bushes on the left and right (yeah, it would eliminate that guy) and maybe convert to BW.

This is a pretty image, I wonder how you did that? Love it!
