Hi Gordon - Yeh i thought it was a golden eye but i am not to uptodate on bird identification - thanks for the comments.

Looks more like a Goldeneye to me and a very good capture.
Why am I finding so many good images so far down the list ??
This should have done so much better.

| A lot of details seems to be lost in the duck -- its eye is very noticeable, almost to the point of being distracting. Did you use a polarizer? I think, if not, it might help cut down on the glare of the water, adn give it a little more color "tone" |

| A circular polarizer would have helped this shot considerably. Try to keep one tucked in your camera case or close and handy when ever around water. I'm guessing, like most photographers - you probably own a nice one but don't carry it so it doesn't get hurt. They don't do you any good sitting in the filter case........ but ......... you could pick up a second hand one on ebay for very little and keep that one real handy. |

lovely effect on the water, overall great capture. I think the colors could have been adjusted, they are a little dull.

| I would have used the title "like a duck to water" It may have got you a extra point or 2. He has a cool looking eye this guy. I have maked it fairly high. |
