 Another in a series I shot one day of this derail sign on a railroad track. The sky whas overcast and very bright that day so it is a bit blown out. I've always had a thing for railroad tracks and trains and this caught my eye one day. I shot this series for the sole purpose of converting to b&W.

very cool. i would think a portrait crop would work well too. But this works just as well. Signs cool too.

I love this idea, however, I probably would also try to crop out the building on the left, it is a little distracting. Great conversion.

Very cool sign. I wonder if you could have fooled around with DOF to get rid of some of the distracting stuff in the background.

this has great leading lines right to the 'derail' sign ... nice use of the rule of thirds also ...

There seems to be a bit too much going on around the primary image that distracts the focus. Nice shot otherwise, good detail and DOF.

Great. Always like railroads.

A little more contrast would be nice and perhaps cropping the left, it seems a little out of balance.

Love the tracks..that sign really gives this something above the rest. I like this as B&W and think this is a great image. I like how you got down closer to ground level, very cool.

I love railroad tracks as well. All the history they seem to possess, and this image is that and then some. Wonderful PP.

Makes a nice B&W and has a feel of the age of the area as well as abandonment. The background adds to the small town feel. Nicely done.

I like this - b&w suits railroad tracks I think. The only little thing I would change is to clone out the tower that you can see part of on top of the derail sign. Very nice shot.
