Nice use of a mundane subject that you are fortunate to view every day. :P
I do like the diagonals formed by the top of the silos. Not sure how much this would have impacted the final composition, but the bands in the lower right are distracting a little...bringing my eye to that corner.
The halos that you mention add to the image in this scenario IMO by keeping the silos from merging into the sky too much. Gives a nice separation.
In admiring the tones of this photo I noticed the range includes the bright lower left. That would get lost if you cropped to exclude the bands I mentioned, so nevermind that comment. :)
Anyway...nicely done! |

| I don't care for the halos and the sky could be brought out with some slight dodge/burn in the right places. I love the tanks though. Great light and feel. |

| You could get the same look just with some dodging on those tanks if you don't like the halo. I like this quite a bit. The way the tones wrap around the silos and the overall cold, mechanical feel of the scene. |

| The halo here works for me, it really adds another dimention to the tanks. The composition and the textures are superb. |

| Great lighting and composition. Love the soft halo around the silos, and the detail you brought out on the silo walls. Your choice of frame works well here to enhance the image as well. |
