 Shot with a 50mm prime at F1.8 in order to maximize the bokeh. Used a 430ex flash shot into a flash diffuser to soften the light and reduce the harsh shadows.

The set up was fairly simple, the power cord was suspended with a fishing line. You can see the line on the cord in the upper right corner. If it was advanced editing I would have cloned it out, I don't think that it is extremely noticeable but I couldn't get the line further back and keep the plug where I wanted it.

The editing was straight forward, a levels and curves adjustment to bring out the black in the cord and whiten up the background. I tried it with a brighter background but I thought that it took away too much from the plug. Used Unsharp Mask to bring more focus on the plug. Resized, and Save for Web.

Oh come on, this deserved better! I can't stand it when nice images get dumped in the 5.5 range while not-so-good images get great scores. Oh well. :)

I think this one is really neat. It's a humourous take on the idea. I think it could've benefited from a greater depth of field, but otherwise it's pretty good.

Clever and well executed - the focus is perfect! It could perhaps use a little bit of a levels adjustment, to make the background whiter...just a thought. Good photo, and neat take on the challenge!
