Your reshoots are beautiful. There's still a good picture in here waiting to come out. If you're using PS you might try Shadow/Highlights to increase the drama in the sky and reduce the shadows/highlights elsewhere. I think what's working against you most here are the highlights on the water which, because of the sky, could not be avoided.

Nice story first off, nice depth in this image, the grass in front makes it look nice.

I like how you used the grass in the foreground as a band to ground your image. Would have been nice if there was a boat on the water or a bird in the sky to break up the three vertical bands, but maybe next time. This looks like it would have been a good location to shoot for the Impressionism challenge.

You don't live in the centre of town do you? Looks like the weather gets close to you out there.

isn't it nice to have water near your house - it always makes for a nice subject.

here are my thoughts - the centered horizion seems to make this image a little static. I love the sky - the clouds are so interesting - a shot in portait mode to include more of the sky and use the rule of 1/3s to provide an anchor for the shot might really make this jump. Using those little lavendar flowers in the lower right as a foreground would really be cool.
