Thanks for the comments. One of those right place, right time, and right setting moments.
Didn't see the lines on my monitor, but may have led to my "Err" message and now D70 has died. So back to my Coolpix until it is fixed.

| Wow! I've never seen a shot of an owl like this. Truly spectacular. Great composition and I love the backlighting. The blue sky against the white of owl is terrific. One of my choices for top ten. Good luck! 10 |

| Very cool composition. But coming back to view and comment it seems a bit noisy and you have some odd horizontal lines going on at the top of the image cutting through his wing. Cool capture though. A bit more editing could hav ereally made this image pop. |

| Awesome capture, i'd give this a 10 but i take points off only because the picture looks a little (luma not colour) noisy, and it looks as though theres some banding occuring across the top of the picture? This can sometimes be caused by the lens electronics though..? 7. |
