I like the concept but I think the impact would have been greater if the little prongies were in focus

A wonderful, accomplished macro without faults and an amazingly shallow depth of field, which provides both emphasis onto the crispness of focus and introduces a degree of ambiguity to the image. I take this as a plus and a charme, other may miss a context.

The unusual, obscuring perspective vs. the incredibly precise detail visible here conjures a dynamic into this photo, which is astounding with a subject that appears to be dead plant matter.

Examplary and commotive, quite unusual for the genre.

I know this is probably just a spent flower that has gone to seed, but it also looks like a old man trying in vain to run from his inevitable death. OK, maybe I'm reading too much into this pic. ;) Interesting and painterly looking.

Amazing textures and I love the beige and brown palette. The star shape is beautiful.

Doesn't express theme to me.

Beautiful shot. If it scores lower than you expect don't take it as a rip on this image, it will be because others like me didn't see the tie in to letting anything go here. Never the less I love the the play of the purple to tan to warm grey of the backround. I wish the tenacles in the foreground were a bit crisper.

I do not get it.
