A little overexposed, hard to shoot metal and not get hot spots and the crop seems a little cramped to me. I like the subject matter though. |

For me, I need to see an area in very sharp focus and I find that a little lacking here. |

Either this is OOF or your shallow DOF is to shallow for your own good for this challenge. I can't really determine where the focus is. Maybe in an 8x10 format this would work but at this resolution...

the lighting is too much and there is not really a main focus subject on the instrument. |

I would have put the focus on something else. But that's only me... |

This was a nice idea. I think the foam is what bothers me in this shot, maybe try another background next time? Nicely done none the less. Good luck! |

The shallow depth of field worked out in this shot, but the part of the image that is in focus is insignificant in terms of the entire subject. The lighting is also a bit inappropriated to create a visually appealing image. |

The reflection of the flash is very distracting, and makes this photo hard to read. The DoF aspect was done relatively well though. Try an indirect flash, or some different lighting. |

The challenge theme is matched but the composition of your shot doesn't identify a clear subject. |

I like the two-tone of the instrument but find the brass edge in the foreground stops my eye from moving in (perhaps it's the white hot spot?) |
