 The shot was made with a light to a wall back the black background to make the border of the glass white (as explained in "Light - Science and magic").
The effect of the balls was with a stroboscopic flash from camera right. I tried with two and three balls. I think this one was with three. As the shuter speed was 1 seconds the balls represent more than once.
The PP was minimal: no crop, a bit of levels on Lightroom, a bit of sharpening and resize and borders.

the black letters on the balls are a bit detracting or me, good idea though. if i had entered this i was going to use bouncing balls in my picture too. nice lighting

Maybe I'm looking too hard but I see some solid ping pong balls, and some that aren't and its throwing me off a little bit
