Soap bubbles on the edge of a glass. I cleaned up some distraction in the left bubble and switched my white balance to get the hue.

Greetings from the CC, what a delicate subject you have chosen! The monochromatic feel IMO certainly gives a simplicity and a focus to the bubbles. The sharpness of the foreground bubble is excellent, demonstrated in the clarity of the window reflection, a lovely detail that I am glad was lefy in the shot. The composition is also delightful the lower bubble behind and the amount of emptiness in the top half of the shot work very well together to be pleasing. I like the sharp bubble being on the left (vs. right often where 'focus' is). Mostly the solid blue background and the disappearing bubble in the back really do add a feeling of depth to your photo..which is exactly IMO what the challenge asks for... well done, and glad the voters rewarded you accordingly..keep shooting!

Very original composition. The beautiful highlights in the bubble really makes it (no pun intended) pop out of the shot. The blurring of the background bubbles helps also to bring it out. It's very crisp and sharp definition makes this a very impressive image. The color choosen for the background is very nice. Simple composition with a vertical crop works perfectly.

Only thing I don't like is the choice of the frame. Way too dark. Maybe a lighter color or no frame would work better. Even with this nothing less then a "10"

Sensitively balanced shot - lovely colours, lighting and a delicate subject. It's a pretty picture, but perhaps that's all - despite your title.

Very intriguing shot. Colors and simplicity give it a scientific feel. DOF works well to imply either futher bubbles or the importance of the bubbles. Nice work.

The background is nice and clear and the blue adds a wonderful mood. The OOF bubble balances the composition well, and I love the sharpness of the in-focus bubble. What looks like a window light reflection adds a complimentary white to the blue as well as give it an almost surreal insight into a mini-world. Very clear and clean shot.

This is a great photo for me to use my new educated skills on. I'm working on expressing why a photo works or why it doesn't. This photo not only meets the challenge, it has so many things going for it. The wonderful shapes, curve of the bowl, round bubbles, shapes in the lighting highlight areas...ALL work together to give this major impact. The color is rich yet not over powering. Perfect negative space area that isn't too much. This is a really nice photo that would make a great wall print. 10

In order for shallow DOF to work you need reference points that I don't see here...

The simplicity of this photo inspires me. I think the blue adds to the overall feeling of 'fragility' here as well. I like the hightlights on the bubbles and the rim of the glass as well... they offer some nice definition to the objects. As you can see here, reflective surfaces, no matter how subtle they are, can be tough to work with. Kudos on a great photo...

Artistic. I like the composition and color. Fits well the challenge.
Just a problem with the border, too small? or unnecessary? or maybe a 1 pixel white border between the photo and the black border (could be a blue one)?
Good picture anyway. 8
