 Photo was taken looking up into the stairwell at the Ursuline Convent in Kutna Hora, Czech Republic; late afternoon sunlight; ISO at 50; shutter speed at 1/20th; f2.7.

Post processing: auto contrast. Levels: adjusted the upper end down and the lower end up to heighten the levels of light and dark playing on the various surfaces.

The desired effect is to capture a sense of sacred transcendence of the spiritual life in architectural lighting. The title, Latin for "in the highest", was an attempt to nudge viewers at this intent.

A nun took us on a tour of this convent, now turned into a Catholic High School (Gymnasium), and stopped here at the base of this marvelous stairwell and had us all sing a Taize sacred song to hear the beautiful musical echoes running up into the vaulted heights.

An odd angle. Seems distorted, though that may have been the intended effect.

Kind of cool lines but the focus seems a bit soft. Doesnt really grab my attention.

Interesting perspective I am just not sure about the orange spot in the middle, I think if that were a little clearer it would have worked better. 6
