Why the fascination with power poles? Urban Grafika with naturally dynamic lines.

Shot in the harsh Australian sun and almost contre-jour... One of many shots on the day, I found that just a little highlight on some of the pole enables me to produce this ultra low-key image.

I took the RAW file to a 16bit TIFF, then applied Gradient Mapping and Curves to give me a tonal B&W. Further Curves to deepen the shadows and leave just a liddle bitty highlight. Curve was an 'S' with a flat top.

I must stop shooting power poles and shoot something else!

Nice idea; I think a pole with more interesting patterns of wires would work better.
