 Took this at a winery called Tulip Hill while I was waiting for my parents while they were wine tasting. Took a while to get a good perspective since I was so far away (about 15 feet) and I was suprised how well the focus turned out. Quite a lot of editing involved-the biggest thing was cloning out a bunch of white water spots on the lily pads and even though they still look a bit splotchy I think it looks pretty good. I hope people like the background being so dark. It was originally brighter but it made the lotus look washe out so I went for more contrast. Lost some of the detail with the neatimage and I reallllllly hope people don't comment on this as being OOF, but we'll see-the DOF is pretty slim...eeek. Hope I don't regret this, I think it's a good one, but not excellent.

Lovely positiioning. The image lacks the right lighting to really bring the flower out and off the screen.

avg vote, it is a pretty picture but would like to see a bit more of the leaves and smaller size flower. The darkness of the backdrop is good but then for it to appeal to me I would like to see the rich yellow and a whiter white peddles on teh flower. Its a good angle on the flower... maybe a little more dof but i'm not sure on that or if something else

nice shape and composition. the lighting is too dark for me though. it would have really worked well with the dark lighting around the flower imo.

I like the idea of this but it seems rather dim if that makes sense. You could do a duplicate layer in screen mode and it would brighten the entire image and then you could adjust the opacity. It works well and doesn't distort anything.

This is pretty and I like the composition. I wish the flower petals were brighter so that it would make the flower pop out from the background a bit more.

This is pretty with nice composition. I think a little more light on the water lily would make this one even stronger - I feel like it's lacking punch even though it's a solid photo.

A lovely subject, sensibly composed and with a well-chosen border. However this isn't going to score highly because the image is too dark and the subject not sharp enough. I'm spotting noise artefacts around the top of the petals as well.
