Thanks everyone for your great responses! This is indeed my new baby boy William Beecher Price. He is about 2 minutes old here! The oxygen was precautionary and not because he was premature. He was 7 lbs 12 oz. We have been very blessed to not have any of our children born premature, but I have gone through it with a couple of friends and one passed away at 2 weeks. I figured this was not the technology people were looking for, but I wasn't submitting for the score anyway. Thanks again.

Congrats Jason. We had two preemies, and lucky for us they were both very healthy. Both were one month early one was 5 lbs. 8 oz. and the other was 6 lbs. 15 oz. (which is huge for a one-month preemie).
I understand your new, handsome, son was not a preemie, but the shot fit the competition beautifully, IMO.
Be happy and healthy young one.

Such a powerful picture. I hope that he or she is o.k., like digitalknight said(and probably why we both find it powerful)I've had a child in the nicu. My son was very premature he spent months and months in the NICU so this photo touches me. Congrats on the photo and the baby if it's yours. I'm pretty sure you guys were expecting one. :)

when an image of this power places 12 under a wet hard drive, something is wrong. It reaffirms my decision to largely stay away from this place.

Powerfully emotive. Great work - I hope the child isn't yours. If it is, I admire you even more for taking time to document this difficult time. I've had small ones in ICU, I learned a lot about myself and life, but would never wish it on anyone.

You get the DigitalKnight Blue - congratulations!

Certainly got the aaaah factor... and a strong message. Think it would have been much stronger cropped tight around the baby's head the mask, and then some adjustments to boost the B&W. Too much clutter around the focal point.
