 This photo was taken in West Covina, Waiting for the right lighting, I snapped off two shots that were the winners before the security told me to leave. In the original picture the flag is at full mast. Utilizing Photoshop I moved the flag down to half-mast and cloned the palm tree.

Nice composition. Could use a little sharpening and contrast adjustment though.

Although I understand your photo and its title, I don't feel it lives up to the challenge theme.
