 I shot some other things this past month that have done well but this is my personal favorite of the month. Three pink Calla Lilies. Now I had shot them with full lighting and I think I even use the cable remote. I was taking the lights down and the three calla lilies in their vase were lit by only one of the studio lights. I saw it and shot several images. I thought the lighting more dramatic and the composition is, perhaps, a bit OOTB but I like the curves of the stems and thought the detail on the blooms just fine. I shot this for the Flowers in Black and White challenge at Fuji Mugs and it is doing ok so I thought I give it another run here.

This was shot in jpeg fine as Fuji Mugs does not accept raw images as originals when there is no exif file on the image. Opened in PSElements 3.0. Rotate. Layer adjustments for levels, brightness/contrast and hue/saturation. Another layer of hue/saturation converting to grayscale. Another layer each of levels and brightness/contrast. I have been also using a layer of curves adjustment on this but I may not have. I cannot see the processing steps on FujiMugs until tomorrow night. Sharpen. Resize Sharpen.

Composition and lighting are exquisite, as always. I very nearly typed the comment "banmorn?" during voting as I figured it to either be yours or a most excellent tribute to your work. One of these days you need to have an exhibit, and it should simply be titled "Three, by Robert Mann", or some such thing.

Technically it is good, if not great. But it is just a little boring to me, but that is just my personal opinion. Good luck in the challenge. =)

Beautiful B&W conversion. The composition in the lower left area is slightly unbalanced in my opinion, little bit too tight.

I wish the flowers were spaced a bit more even. But still a very nicely done image.

I'm sure this would have (did) look great in the side challenge.....it looks great here as well. Nice composition with perfect lighting. I always like the dark backgrounds on these floral photo's.

Composition: a slightly too big a gap between the bottom flower and the top two
