We up at 5:30am to drive out to this location. I had never photographed in a sunrise before and found that sunflaring was less of an issue out there. This one began as a pretty dull picture because I purposely overexposed a bit so that she wouldn't be so shadowed that I would lose the detail in her face and stuff. Then I darkened the shadows a lot and removed an itty bitty sun flare from the bottom left hand corner. When shooting against the sun without a shader thing on your lens it is important to pay attention to how you angle the photo to make the sun flare occur in a place where it is convenient to be rid of it if you need to.

ps. I had a five in 1 reflector with me a and used it for some shots but at this one I couldn't get it to look how I wanted with the reflector so I just let it go :)

I love the warm colurs, the straw in the foreground IMO is ok, her hair captures the sunlight very well, I like the entire photo except her expression IMO is a little off. Either way very nice :)

I love the glow -- the light is amazing. Her face color looks a bit odd, though.

beautiful shot and the long hair really catches the light beautifully. I may have to try and get up early just to shoot. I have a hard time exposing for these shots I think I usually end up blowing out the sky to get details in the face. another excellent image.

I love the glow around her hair. On my monitor, her face seems to have an orangey-reddish cast to it. Too bad about that straw across her chest too. I like that you did not lose the details in her face.

Sun as hairlight... very beautiful. Nice job using the available light. The actual sun in this picture detracts for me slightly (kind of an "eye-trap").

Lovely yellow glow to this. I think you did the lighting perfectly. My only suggestion is to wake up the model more... haha

For my own benefit I would love to see the original unedited photo to give me a better clue how you did this.

Boy a silver or white reflector held to her face would have secured the best of both worlds here. Her face seems a little yellow/dark, but still, very nice.

On the contrary, I like the straw (aside from the parts obscuring your model). The light as fantastic as well, but the pose could be stronger. However, great light.

The light is very nice, especially the glow around her hair. The straw (?) in the foreground is a little distracting in my opinion.
