When we were in town pick up Taylor I wanted to shoot an old church a few blocks away. I quickly walked down and the light was not good because it was already sunset and the sun set behind the church. On the way there I saw a bunch of flowers at a historic mansion (which happens to be where I got married!). Thinking of the floral challenge I decided to take some shots of the flowers and ended up getting these berry things on a tree.

I didn't do anything fancy in processing. Convert from raw, crop, NI. then I raw Mike Finn's Clarifier action , which selects something and then does a couple different sharpening passes and curves. I then ran MF's LAB sharpening action. Another pass of NI due to more noise, resize, and smart sharpen with high % and small radius, save for web. It sounds like a lot but it only took a few minutes once I decided what to do.

Check out the camera settings - it was taken about 7 minutes after sunset, handheld! There was quite a bit of noise at this ISO and the original was very dark.

Love the colors and softness that frames the bright red berries.

All the pretty autumn colors people are posting make me so happy. This is no exception. I love the bright red berries and the "summer is FINALLY over" feeling it they give me. :)

It's beautiful. I love this kind of photo where the subject is tack sharp in a sea of soft bokeh. And this one has such appealing autumn colors. Very NICE!

So sharp and handheld? Nice! With these settings my version would have ended up in the 'blur' side challenge :-) Thanks for the processing details, I so love learning about new actions and plugins and such!

Sounds like you did very well to save this ;) Those berries look very red and juicy probably poisonous!
