Hmmm well. On my monitor the contrast is just perfect where his face is light like I wanted but the details are all still there. I go on another monitor and I can barely see his nose...

can't win!! lol.

The nose does appear "washed out" in tone to me, but I think that's ok, as it shifts the eye's attention to those arresting shades and the reflections in them.

I see his nose fine. What I love about this is that the subject is blase but the photographer is dynamic, vibrant, alive. This is like a metaphor for how every photo is really a photo of the photographer, just like every poem is really about the poet, every painting really about the artist, every song about the singer, every cookie about the baker...
