 Very basic editing on this image.
-Straightened and cropped the image.
-Did some minor adjustments with Hue/Saturation
-Also some minor adjustments with Levels
-Applied Unsharp Mask
-Used Neat Image
-Resize and Save for Web

I hope you like it. The only thing I wish I would have noticed when I took this is the orange light that is reflected on the underside of the middle leaf on the left. I feel it is a little distracting.

Setup: Stickytacked the plant to an old dictionary. Then I set up a piece of driftwood against the stem. The background is the back of a white board. The white board was lit with a lamp that has a tan/orange shade on it. The plant is lit from my camera's on board flash with a diffuser held in front of it. I took this at 190mm while the camera was on a tripod.

I'm guessing this will land in the 70+ percentile. ...hopefully

I think I like this shot mostly for its simplicity, your background has nothing to it, but it really adds to the mood of the shot. It seems like the background is getting darker as you go up, but the sprout is getting lighter, I thought that was interesting. This has potential for a ribbon.

Although this is a stand alone subject, it does fit the details Plant life, I believe the processing and capture are excellent, this is a standout image in this challenge....10
