I saw this monument and liked the texture of the stone. Took 35 shots before I had to go get warmed up. It was a cold, windy day and I was kneeling in six inches of wet snow. I'm particullarly happy with this entry because that is the composition straight from the camera... no cropping. Unfortunately, I was unable to find an angle that removed that damn tree from the right side of the monument while still getting the shot I wanted. I upped the saturation and contrast a touch and applied a little unsharp mask.

very nice angle, that tree on the right is a distraction though seems right sdie heavy with the clouds.

The paerspective you took is what really makes this photo unique.

Nice composition.

The composition seems a bit off to me, the flag could be a lot closer to the top of the picture, and the perspective on the monument itself could be less severe... that way you could fill the frame nicely.

Somehow the high-contrast look of this stone has lost the real feel of the surface of the momument - the text appears almost like print, rather than carving. Not a big fan of the composition either - unbalanced toward the bottom half of frame, I think.

[World Record Attempt]
+ Lots of textures; interesting subject and POV.
- I'm not sure but it seems this photo has been sharpened too much.

Nice clear shot and I like the perspective.

Great sky, love the color of the flag, but the texture of the rock might be better enhanced by shooting in a more strongly directional light.

(The caption seems almost like a Readers Digest memorial - ALL wars! Unfortunately, the Air Force had no heroes killed in any USA war involvements, according to this. )

No, WAIT! There's room to put in a line, "P.S. Insert the word 'AirForce' !"

While there is texture here, the real subject seems to be the text.

The branches are disturbing and a little to noisy the sky

the clouds, flag and bush are all on the right - unbalances an otherwise very geometric pic. nicely exposed, nice contrast with teh blue sky
